Gene's graphic novel "American Born Chinese" is about his experience trying to fit in American schools and fit in with American kids. He also intertwined Christian religion and the monkey king myth in the mix to show more about integrating and trying to fit in with people. About the art style, it's very flat and cartoony. there is not a lot of perspective backgrounds it almost feels like a south park sort of style. None of the characters are shaded with shadow but will most of the time have highlighted hair. So, that is what the book style is like and I think it's neat.
